VIETNAM MARKETING SUMMIT 2025 – TRADE PROMOTION PROGRAM – OCOP PRODUCT FAIR – LOCAL SPECIALTIES

The Vietnam Non-Timber Forest Products Exchange Program (NTFP-EP Vietnam) was established by the Southern Institute of Ecology and the Asia Non-Timber Forest Products Exchange Program. NTFP-EP Vietnam focuses on research, conservation, and development of non-timber forest products (NTFPs) in Vietnam. Additionally, the organization plays a key role in promoting the sustainable use and management of forests, as well as biodiversity conservation by strengthening the capacity of forest-dependent communities and community-based NTFP enterprises.

Currently, the program is implementing the “AFOCO-CLMV-NTFP-EP Asia Project on Improving Local Livelihoods and Market Linkages.” As part of this project, NTFP-EP Vietnam, in collaboration with the Business Research and Enterprise Support Center (BSA), is organizing the “VIETNAM MARKETING SUMMIT 2025 – Trade Promotion Program – OCOP Product Fair – Local Specialties,” scheduled to take place from January 16-20, 2025, at the Trade Promotion Service Center Office, Ministry of Agriculture, 135 and 135a Pasteur, Ho Chi Minh City.

The program aims to enhance connections between producers, distributors, and consumers through the display and trade of OCOP (One Commune One Product) products, particularly highlighting outstanding local specialties from various regions across the country.

1. Objectives of the Event:

•Create trade opportunities between community enterprises producing OCOP products and potential partners.
•Promote local specialty products, enhancing their value and competitiveness in both domestic and international markets.
•Strengthen connections between producers, distributors, and consumers to foster sustainable partnerships.
•Improve community capacity in marketing and identify available funding sources suitable for community enterprises through meetings with government and non-governmental organizations supporting local communities.

2. Key Activities at the Event:

•Thematic Workshops: Industry experts will share new trends, government policies supporting the OCOP program, and strategies to enhance brand value for OCOP products. Additionally, they will provide insights into consumer trends for 2025 and multichannel trade promotion strategies in the evolving market landscape.
•Business Matching Program: Trade sessions will facilitate direct meetings between producers and distributors, creating opportunities for collaboration and contract signing.
•Local Specialty Fair: Exhibition booths will showcase famous regional specialties, offering consumers a chance to experience and purchase high-quality products for Tet 2025.
•OCOP Product Showcase: Hundreds of OCOP products from across the country will be displayed, covering diverse categories such as food, agricultural products, handicrafts, and other specialty items.
•Cultural Exchange: Traditional gong performances and ethnic dance performances.
•Culinary Demonstrations & Tastings: Special dishes prepared by renowned chefs, such as steamed shrimp rolls by Chef Do Quang Long and Ngoc Linh ginseng chicken hotpot by Chef Nguyen Duc Hoang – Director of NHS Food Co., Ltd. and Head of the Central Highlands Culinary Club.
•Mini Workshops: Hands-on sessions on making herbal essential oils and aromatic sachets using natural ingredients such as cinnamon, star anise, rosemary, and ginseng.
•Special Promotions: Regional specialty combo promotions at discounted prices, bulk purchase discounts, and free gifts (such as fabric bags or packaging boxes). Vouchers will be given to participants who take part in food-tasting challenges or answer regional trivia questions.

Thus, on January 18-19, 2025, the “Meeting & Networking for Trade Promotion and OCOP Product Sales – Local Specialty Fair” will take place at the Trade Promotion Service Center Office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, located at 135 and 135A Pasteur Street, Vo Thi Sau Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.
