The Vietnam Non-Timber Forest Products Exchange Program (NTFP-EP) was established in November 2016 by the Asia Non-Timber Forest Products Exchange Program and the Southern Institute of Ecology.
NTFP-EP is a collaborative network of over 100 community-based organizations, local community groups, and civil society organizations across six countries and regions in Asia.
NTFP-EP Vietnam empowers younger generations living in forest-dependent communities to preserve cultural heritage, traditional knowledge, landscapes, and forest ecosystems, while ensuring their sustainable use and benefits.
Mission
NTFP-EP Vietnam promotes empowering local organizations working with forest-dependent communities, primarily in Vietnam, towards sustainable management of forest landscapes and ecosystems, as well as ensuring access to natural resources, livelihoods, and cultural identity.
Objectives
The objective of NTFP-EP Vietnam is to ensure the empowerment of forest-dependent communities through programs focused on forest conservation, indigenous food and medicinal plants, community forest governance, and sustainable livelihoods in Vietnam.
